The leadership body of the Muslim-American Ministry for Human Salvation (MAMHS) recognize the serious nature of the global threat from the spread of the Novel Coronavirus. We concur with our Imam that Al-Islam places a premium value on human life.
There is no justifiable reason within the context of our understanding that allows for human life to be unnecessarily exposed to an imminent threat that could be avoided with sound judgement and responsible action.
We discern Allah's clear signs in His creation and are able to read them. The circumstances in the environment warrant a conscious interruption of the regular pattern in order to preserve life. Only those who have no ability to read Allah’s signs can accept a rationale that supports conducting business as usual under such circumstances.
With our Guided Tradition and Logical Reasoning we conclude that the gravity of this global pandemic renders it necessary for us to suspend our regular activities such as Jummah Khutbahs, Prayers in the Masjid, and other activities that produce unsafe environments until this life-threatening situation is resolved.
